Last chance for 2022 - taking our last orders for the year

Our Tan Brown design reminds us of the Whenua (land) and Papatuanuku our Earth Mother.

In Māori tradition, Papatūānuku is the land. She is a mother earth figure who gives birth to all things, including people. Trees, birds and people are born from the land, which then nourishes them. Some traditions say that the land first emerged from under water.

Papatuanuku or Earthly Browns mimics our brown tones of mother earth, and it's a color often associated with resilience, dependability, security, and safety.

Our design is a combination of black, greens to natural browns with a striped beige coque feather before being finished with a touch of white and the 2in tan patiki taniko band.

Our designer kākahu are aesthetically beautiful, heirloom-quality taonga. They’re modern, high-fashion, and have featured in Vogue, Vanity Fair, Tatler and Glamour Magazine.

Our designs are wahine (female) Māori designed, and made by a whanau (family) business in Aotearoa (New Zealand). We follow tikanga (cultural customs) guidelines and guidance from kaumatua (elders).

Spot clean only - do not machine wash or handwash. Do not twist or wring. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean. Never iron. Due to the fragile nature of the feathers, you will risk damaging your Korowai if you do not follow these strict care instructions.

If you must spot clean your Korowai, do not hang it in direct or strong sunlight as this can damage and cause your feather colours to fade over time. Let it dry out in the shade.
